VB Notes

Getting started

What you see the first time you open VB Notes, and where everything is.

The first time you open VB Notes on your phone, it makes a folder called VBNotes on your device and puts one note in it: Welcome to VB Notes. That note shows most of what the app can do. Try things out in it, then delete it whenever you like; it won’t come back.

The notes list

Your notes are listed newest first, grouped by day: Today, Yesterday, This week, then by month. Pinned notes sit at the top.

At the bottom of the screen there are three buttons:

  • ☰ opens the library, where your tags, Archive and Trash live. You can also swipe right anywhere on the list.
  • Search or ask opens search. Type words, or ask a question in your own words.
  • + starts a new note.

Swipe a note to the left to pin it or move it to Trash. Hold a note for more: pin, archive, or move to Trash.

Writing a note

The first line of a note is its title, and the note’s file is named after it. Formatting keys sit in the bar over the keyboard; tap BIU to swap the keyboard for the full set of formatting keys.

Everything you write is saved as you type. See Writing notes for what a note can hold.

Settings

Tap the gear in the library to open Settings. There you choose light or dark, the themes for each, your fonts and spacing, the folder your notes live in, which tags to keep out of the main list, and the search model.
